Lasallian Competition
By Mr M Forde
In the spirit of creativity and exploration, first-year students at
De La Salle College Churchtown have taken a deep dive into
the heart of their heritage. The Lasallian competition, a vibrant
showcase of young talent, was recently held. The theme of this
year’s competition was 'Our Lasallian World'. This event not
only highlighted the students' understanding of their Lasallian
roots but also offered them a platform to express their insights
in a multitude of creative forms.
The competition, a part of the Religious Education classes,
encouraged students to explore the rich legacy of the Lasallian
educational movement. Founded by St. John Baptist De La
Salle, this movement has been a beacon of inclusive and
innovative education worldwide. Students were tasked with
creating projects that reflected the values, traditions, and
global impact of the Lasallian community. The range of entries
was as diverse as it was impressive, spanning posters, digital
presentations, poetry, music, and even rap!
The challenge set forth was not just an academic exercise but
a journey into the heart of what it means to be part of the
Lasallian family. The variety of the projects submitted
showcased not just the creativity of the students but also their
deep engagement with the theme. Whether it was through the
rhythm of a rap or the visual impact of a digital presentation,
each entry was a unique lens on the Lasallian world.
