Border Hopping Tour 2024
Day 4: Historical Insights and
Water Park Fun
The final day of the tour began
with a guided visit to the historic
WWII Breendonk Military
Internment Concentration camp,
where students gained a
profound understanding of its
significant past and were
immersed in stories of the
incomprehensible events that
took place for so many during the
Holocaust.
This was incredibly poignant and
had a marked effect on all of our
students.
As the tour drew to a close, the group visited the Aqualibi Water Park. Here,
students enjoyed a variety of water slides and pools, ending the trip on an
exhilarating high note.
Finally, the students made their way to the airport for their return flight to
Dublin, tired but thrilled by the diverse experiences they had in such a short
time. This Border Hoppin' school tour was a remarkable journey through
history, culture, and adventure, leaving students with cherished memories and
a deeper appreciation for the richness of European heritage.
