My First Year in De La Salle
“This has been my first year in De La Salle. It has been one of the best experiences. All of
the girls including myself have had the warmest welcome into the Lasallian community by
students and staff.
We have been given the same respect and inclusion as any student in the school despite
being known for a short amount of time. I myself have been given so many opportunities to
learn new things and visit new places such as barista, barber workshops and the border
hopping trip.
During this year I have formed many friendships within the school that I will forever be
grateful for. I would not trade this experience for anything.”

My Experience as a First Year Girl
Hello everyone my name is Natalia Siama and here is my experience as a girl in De La Salle
College.
Even though the school started girls only this year, they have been very accepting and didn't
mind having girls. The teachers treat everyone equally and are strict at times but that's only if you
do something bad.
Also this school has a really pretty girls uniform! Like it has a black, red, and yellow tie which is
so cute. The skirt is long and grey. The jumper is nice and cozy and is not that scratchy.
The female teachers will really understand if you need to go to the bathroom if you have a “bad
stomach day” or if you just want to talk to a woman in general.
Personally, I had a great experience being a first year girl because this school is very kind and
treats first year girls respectfully. Like on March 3rd (women's Day) they gave us each a rose and
a chocolate egg, which was really nice.
The girls also went on sports trips with their teammates. Like me personally I have gone on
badminton trips, football trips, etc.
I would like to point out that sports are very inclusive because you can play football or basketball
with other girls. Or you can play sports like badminton or table tennis with girls AND boys if you
like.
Thank you for reading this bye!
