Wellbeing Week 2024
‘Talk about it Tuesday’
Day 2 welcomed Tony O’Reilly to tell his story about gambling addiction to our TY,
5th and 6th years. He delivered an amazing presentation that detailed his struggles
and how easy it is today to become addicted to gambling. He told our senior
students of his hardships, choices and ultimately how he came out the other side.
It was a very engaging, insightful and overall excellent talk, and our senior
students took a lot from it. His book, ‘Tony10’, which describes his story from start
to finish, is also now available in the school library, thanks to Tony’s donation.
A table tennis competition for staff
and students took place during
lunchtime, alongside a student
‘Drop-In Centre’ by the Student
Council, for receiving any student’s
concerns or issues in the school.
TY students also participated in our
annual ‘Community Clean Up’, as a
way to give back to the local com-
munity. The Transition Years really
engaged this year, with a focus on
Loreto Park, Churchtown village
and surrounding bus stops and
roads, we collected a multitude of
bags full of litter.
Having a positive relationship
with your Community is an
integral part of Well-being, in De
La Salle we are blessed to have
a positive and supportive local
