Digital Leaders 2023-24
By Mr D Broderick
The academic year 2023-2024 will be remembered for a number of reasons, one of
them being the introduction of the TY Digital Leaders Programme.
The students who applied and were successful were
given management and leadership roles in order to
develop these skills. Management duties included
monitoring the use of the school Chromebooks along
with talking to students and staff about the procedures
around using the devices.
For their leadership skills, students created a workshop
around using technology to complete CBAs and talking
to students about their online presence and how to stay
safe online. It was delivered to a first-year group, and
once completed it was reflected on, adapted and
delivered to another group later in the year.
The hope from this programme is that the students will be able to assist with promoting
the use of digital technologies in the school, while also building their management and
leadership skills so they can take further leadership roles in the future.
It was a fantastic year’s work completed by the group and definitely, they have set the
standards for the years to come!
