Drama Club

                                                                                      By Ms J Madden

Treading the Boards at De La Salle

This term at De La Salle saw the founding of a new lunch time activity - Drama Club.
Students gather every Tuesday to explore the world of drama and performance. Any initial
stage fright was soon dispelled as members began to experiment with improvisation
techniques, role-playing, creating characters, and inventing dramatic stories.

Drama Club isn't just for students who want to act. It's for anyone interested in storytelling,
playing games or letting their creative side loose. Members can write scenes, invent
characters, and direct their fellow thespians - or just sit back and enjoy the show!

So far in Drama Club, members have devised scenes featuring space cowboys, zombie
Taylor Swift, a taco paradise, and a gorilla crime ring. We even staged our own Oscar

ceremony, where the Best Picture gong was scooped by Planet of the Apricots.

Frequently our everyday lives do not provide any opportunities to use our imagination.
Drama is a fantastic way of unleashing your creativity, of which there is plenty in De La
        Salle.
