Transition Year
Visit to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral
Just in time for Saint Paddy’s Day, the students
took an educational guided tour of the historic
Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. During
this highly interactive and engaging tour, the
group learned about the history of the
cathedral, which dates back to the 12th
century, and the important role it played in
religious and political life of Ireland, as well as
the links it has to the Guinness family and
literary greats like Jonathan Swift. The
students got to take in the cathedral’s
stunning architecture, beautiful stained-glass
windows, and intricate carvings throughout
the building and appreciate more of Dublin’s
rich cultural heritage.
CPR Training
The students ended the term by developing
some incredibly important life-saving skills at a
CPR Workshop, which is certified by the Irish
Heart Foundation. They learned how to help
someone in serious cases such as cardiac
arrest and choking, and how to administer a
defibrillator.
The training helps students to gain confidence
and knowledge about how to respond to
common emergency situations and work
effectively to provide the necessary care.
These are such essential skills to teach our
students, which may save a life one day.
