Special Effects Movie Make-up
Workshop

The students got the opportunity to show
their artistic & creative sides as we
welcomed professional make-up artist
Amanda McCarthy to our school for
the first time to complete a Special Effects
Movie Make-up workshop with the TYs.

Amanda spoke about her incredible
career path and working in the film
industry. Students learned practical
techniques for applying fake blood,
crafting lifelike cuts, bruises, gashes and
wounds, and the time-consuming process
of turning actors into convincing
characters. This was a fun-filled workshop
that sparked their imagination and ignited
some passion for the cinematic arts.

SOAR Workshop

For more than a decade, De La Salle has
had the pleasure to welcome the SOAR
Foundation to work with our TYs on
breaking down barriers, encouraging self
belief and helping them recognise the
greatness that exists in all of our young
people.

This workshop is always an incredibly
impactful experience for our students, at
times transformational for the year group
and will no doubt act as an inspiration to
all who attended.
