                                                                                      By Mr C Brennan

         Pearse Museum:

At the beginning of the new year, the
students had the pleasure of visiting the
Pearse Museum, in the picturesque St.
Enda's Park. The museum is dedicated
to the life and work of Pádraig Pearse, a
prominent Irish nationalist and one of the
leaders of the Easter Rising of 1916. It
         houses an extensive collection of
         Pearse's personal belongings and works,
         including his letters, manuscripts, and
poetry. The students got to see the
         beautiful, architecturally impressive St.
         Enda's schoolhouse, which was founded
by Pearse in 1908 and was known for its
         progressive teaching methods and
emphasis on the Irish language, drama,
poetry and the arts. A fantastic bit of local
         history on our doorstep!

         Cinema Trip:
As the cold winter persisted, the TYs did
not allow the gloomy weather to spoil
their fun as they took a trip to
         Movies@Dundrum where they got to
see the new movie Aquaman and the
Lost Kingdom. This was a fantastic day
out and a great bonding experience for
the group. The movie dealt with strong
         themes of friendship, ecology,
         environmentalism and the relationship
between humans and nature, linking in
         with our Green Schools code.
