Basketball

First Year Basketball

The First Year Basketball Team had a solid first
season this year. From learning the fundamentals
of the game to becoming a well-rounded side. The
highlight of their season came with a win against a
solid Tallaght Community School team. A big
thanks for all your hard work and commitment
shown every Friday.

A special word of thanks to Tautyvydas in 6th year,
not only for the passion shown with the first years,
but for being a fantastic servant to the sport during
your time in the school. The current crop will
ensure that your love of the game will live on in De
La Salle.

Senior Basketball 2022/2023

Our senior basketball team under the direction of
Carlitos had a year to remember. The league starts
fast and quick in the academic year and with not
many weeks into the year the senior team were
playing competitive basketball. They played
friendlies and four competitive games vs Tallaght
Community School, Old Bawn Community School,
Firhouse Community College and HFCS Rathcoole.
They did not advance from their group but had
some excellent games where the team really played
well and did themselves and the school proud. We
look forward to the year ahead and the next crop of
players preparing themselves for making the
transition to the senior team. We as a school do not
emphasise the result but instead hope students
enjoy the game and relish the journey and
challenges that come in a team sport. Basketball has
long been a big part of the De La Salle sporting
experiences and we will continue to invest in the
senior basketball team in the future. We thank all
the students who trained and played throughout
and look forward to preparing for next season.
