Transition Year Activities
CPR
Next the boys took a very important CPR
Workshop, which is certified by the Irish Heart
Foundation. They learned how to help someone in
serious cases such as cardiac arrest and choking,
and how to administer a defibrillator. The training
helps students to gain confidence and knowledge
about how to respond to common emergency
situations and work effectively with a team to
provide the necessary care. These are such
essential skills to teach our students, which may
save a life one day.
Internet Safety Workshop
To celebrate ‘Internet Safety Day’, the school
welcomed Cyber Safe Kids to educate the TYs on
the importance of online safety and provide tips
and tools to stay secure while using the internet.
In today's digital age, it's more important than
ever for young people to be aware of the risks
associated with using the internet. This interactive
and engaging workshop covered a variety of
topics, including protecting personal information
and areas like how to use privacy settings on social
media platforms to control their online presence
and avoid being targeted by cyberbullies or
predators.
Visit to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral
Just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, the lads took an
educational guided tour of the historic Saint
Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. During this highly
interactive and engaging tour, the boys learned
about the history of the cathedral, which dates
back to the 12th century, and the important role it
played in the religious and political life of Ireland.
The students got to take in the cathedral’s stunning
architecture, beautiful stained-glass windows, and
intricate carvings throughout the building and
appreciate more of Dublin’s rich cultural heritage.
