Next year there will be some minor changes to the timetable, as part of our ongoing plan to
raise standards in the College. We ask that students arrive at school for 8.30am so they
have the time to go to their lockers and sort books and materials for classes. The first class
every morning will start at 8.45am. This will be a compulsory 12 minute Wellbeing Class.
They will meet their Class Tutor/ Year Head who will take registration, record lates and
absences. Uniform and Yondr Pouch phone checks will take place. We ask all parents to sign
the Yondr Pouch Contract and School Rules in the Student Journal. We need your support to
ensure that DLSC is a safe learning environment. On Fridays School Journals will be checked
and we ask all parents to sign them every Thursday to monitor that your son/daughter are
recording the homework and revision they are required to complete. This class will also be an
opportunity for the tutor to check in with students and to monitor and support their wellbeing.
The new timetable means that classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday will finish
at 3.25pm and on Wednesday at 1.15pm.
This Summer Edition of the Newsletter chronicles the many activities and events that have
taken place in the school since our return after the Easter Holidays and each Year Head gives
a round up on all that has happened in their year group. I want to thank the Editorial Team,
Year Heads, Staff and Students who submitted articles for this edition. I hope you enjoy the
read and see how much we go above and beyond to provide our students with a great all
round holistic education. True to our Mission Statement we want to empower them to reach
their potential in every way!
Special thanks to the staff of De La Salle College, Deputy Principal Michael Kirwan, the
teachers, the SNA Team, Niamh, Gertie, Frank & Noel. It is an incredible privilege to work with
and lead such a dedicated, hardworking, caring team. Their enthusiasm, commitment and
hard work ensures that standards in DLSC continue to rise year on year. On behalf of the
staff I want to extend our appreciation to the parents/ guardians of our students, for your
positivity and ongoing support. Working together in partnership will ensure that our students,
your sons and daughters, will flourish and become the best they can be!
Finally, I want to extend my best wishes to the staff, parents/ guardians and students for a
great Summer Holiday. Hopefully we will see some sunshine and everyone will get a chance
to relax and enjoy time out from busy schedules.
Stay safe and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for what will no doubt be another
busy, exciting and enjoyable new academic year.
Beir bua agus beannacht.
