Celebrating a Milestone: 6th Year Graduation Ceremony

The 6th year Graduation Ceremony marks a milestone in the lives of our students as they finally
leave behind their ‘school years’ . This significant event was celebrated with much enthusiasm
and pride by the class of 2024 on…bringing them to reflect on the challenges met and most
importantly on their achievements over the last six years.

Held in the school's decorated assembly hall, after a fun day leading them from St Enda’s Park to
the school garden for a barbecue. The event began with a welcoming speech from the Principal,
who highlighted the resilience and determination demonstrated by the students throughout their
secondary school journey. After the Graduation Mass, then came the time for our Graduation
Ceremony, a fabulous time to get together, reminisce, reward, congratulate and dream big for the
future. The students, dressed in their best attire (never such a collection of suits had been seen
in the college, fair play to you boys!) , received their mementos, symbolizing the completion of
their secondary education. Special congratulations to all award winners who have shown
impressive academic, leadership and sports achievements over the last two years and
particularly to our big award winners, Oliver Walkin Bell (John Corbett Award for the Arts),
Anthony Downes (Spirit of Salle Award) and John Cleary, our outstanding Student of the Year
2024. The event was attended by proud parents, friends and teachers, all eager to witness this
         special moment.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the short film created by Anthony Downes, a
collection of interviews , photos, funny videos , offering a quick glimpse into six years of these
boys’ life in the college, which John Cleary, our 2024 Student of the Year, described as ‘a second
home’, ‘a place where we’ve learned, laughed and forged memories that will last a lifetime’ .

As the ceremony concluded, the graduating students gathered for a group photo, capturing the
friendships and collegiality developed over the last few years. Teachers and parents expressed
their heartfelt congratulations, offering words of encouragement for the future.

The 6th year Graduation Ceremony was not just an end, but a new beginning. It marked the start
of an exciting chapter in our students' lives, filled with new challenges and opportunities. As John
underlined, ‘regardless of where we go or what we do in the future, we will always be linked by
this school. But we came here for a reason. And now the time has come to put everything we’ve
learned into practice. Not just in exams, but in our lives here on out.’
As they embark on their adult life journey and face the Leaving Cert exams, we wish them the
very best of luck and we hope that they succeed in all their endeavours.

Class of 2024, we salute you
