Drama and education
Our school is currently involved in a European
Union initiative relating to theatrical
improvisation techniques that aim to bring
issues that are important to the students
through the expressive medium of drama.
We were given the story of The Emperor's
New Clothes and our task was to study the
story and take the values from the story and
re-interpret them to tackle the issues that
face young people today.
Through discussion, group work and guided
lessons, the students identified areas that
concerned them and addressed them
through role play, character development,
script-writing and performance.
