may have often wondered what does CSPE
stand for?
Let's explain it here …..
C - Civic This refers to the idea of citizenship.
As a citizen , you are entitled to certain rights. You
have responsibilities not only to yourself , but to
others , your community and the wider world.
S - Social This is about your relationship to
society and the communities to which you belong.
P - Political This refers to government and the
role that the government plays in shaping the lives
of citizens.
E - Education This refers to the knowledge,
attitudes and skills that you will develop through
your study of CSPE.
CSPE belongs to the area of learning called
Wellbeing. Wellbeing is about feeling well mentally,
physically , emotionally and socially.
The main focus for both 2nd and 3rd years this
term was completing their CBA’s on different
projects and working in groups.
3rd years focused on the area of Democracy , they
researched different aspects of Democracy. The
standard of the projects was excellent! Both
students and teachers enjoyed the various
presentations.
The 2nd year focus was on Global Citizenship with
many of the groups focusing on poverty on a global
level. They also worked in groups. Again, the
standard of the projects and presentations was
excellent!
Well done to all the students!
