Subject Choice Week 2023

Junior Cycle classes are also an integral part of Subject

Choice Week, with a range of activities and events in their

classes. These events are geared towards dispelling notions
about gender specific jobs and starting students on the

journey of linking subjects with career areas.

We invited in a number of past-pupils to talk about their

college experience in a variety of courses ranging from
Business, Law, Arts, Science and Medicine.

All Transition year students are given the opportunity to
meet on a one-to-one basis with the Guidance Counselling

team so they have an opportunity to discuss, question and

share any concerns they may have in relation to choosing

subjects.

They are given a detailed Subject Choice Booklet which will

prove useful throughout their Senior Cycle; as it contains

information relating not only to subject choice but also
college admission requirements and career possibilities in

apprenticeships and further education and training.
